Kat Wells played softball at Sanger High School in Sanger, Texas. She graduated in 2018, pitching for the Indians as a four-year letterman. She led them to a Bi-District Championship in her senior year, earning District 9-4A Pitcher of the Year and 2nd Team All-Area honors.
After Sanger High School, Kat attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University on a softball and academic scholarship. She played in 30 games for the Rangers, making 13 starts and 23 appearances in the circle.
After the 2019 season, Kat transferred to Midwestern State University, where she played for the Mustangs from 2020-2022. She graduated in May 2022 with a B.S. in Exercise Physiology and is a Certified Personal Trainer.
